I’m Swig, welcome to my travel weblog and thanks for becoming a member of me on the journey of traveling the World! This weblog is a resource to anyone interested by traveling. With the help of travel stories, personal experiences, and photographs I plan to assist new and experienced travelers. My hope is to inspire people to to do something new and unfamiliar.

I’ve always been obsessive about travel, and so is my husband Matt, a photographer who shoots alot of travel. When our daughter Clara (now eight) was born, some buddies tried to tell us we’d never travel once more, but we were decided to show them fallacious. When she was a toddler, I grew to become the travel and way of life editor of Cookie Magazine, and we travelled as a household for the journal, close to and much, high and low, for 5 years. I need to share our experiences right here, as a result of I think travel is so vital, even if it is simply exploring in your personal neighborhood. I do know traveling is a dedication-leaving your comfort zone, questioning if it is even going to be worth the hassle and expense. All of us want concepts on the place to go, one of the best ways to get there, and what to do when you’re there. Normally these ideas are finest when they come from a pal, somebody you belief, who has executed it already. I hope you will find some inspiration right here.

I really like traveling for a lot of reasons: change of scenery, landscapes, folks, cultures, languages…The panorama, the scenery, I just adore it, I can spend hours watching other people stay in their area. It does affect the person. It opens up the thoughts, allow us to see the various possibilities, we discover new issues and methods we will input in our lives, it clears up the mind, it offers us inspiration. it gives us one other perspective on our lives.

The Caribbean is filled with surprises. Throughout our current road trip by means of the Central American country of Belize, employees photographer Zach Stovall and I enjoyed a rare deal with, due to Mark Howells, the Aussie owner of the Lamanai Outpost Lodge : We ate breakfast with a nearby Mennonite household. Belize has some 10,000 Mennonites — about three % of the whole inhabitants — who stay in small communities all around the country. Defiantly nonviolent and anti-army, they left Europe in droves to escape non secular persecution; Belize is one of about sixty five countries the place you may find them.
